New Creation Church is a new Christian non-denominational church in the heart of the Hyde Park neighborhood on Chicago’s south side. After serving in pastoral ministry 14 years, Pastor Ricky Brown felt the call to plant a church in the Hyde Park neighborhood.

Ricky dreamed of a multiethnic, intergenerational community that reflects the beauty and diversity of God's creation of humanity. A place where people could be taught the Word of God and experience the love of God from the people of God. The hope of the Gospel offers a newness of life that can only come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. God gave the mission for the church: Inviting People to Become a New Creation, meaning we don't want to stop at being made new ourselves, but we want to invite other people into the same process that radically changed our lives, a loving relationship with Jesus.

We launched September 9th, 2018 but the process involved a 3-4 year period of seeking the face of God. In 2017 Ricky and his wife Amber took the first steps toward planting a new church. They both attended a rigorous 4-day assessment for church planters which is designed to discover giftedness and calling. They passed! After their assessment the process of recruiting launch team members and raising support began.

Beginning without any people or resources, the launch team quickly grew, and partners began to align with the mission and vision of New Creation Church through financial support. Our partners are Cherry Hills Community Church; Highlands Ranch CO, Saddleback Church (Purpose Driven Church Conference); Orange County CA, Chicago Partnership for Church Planting, Mission Church; Bloomingdale IL, Greater Mt. Bethel COCHUSA; Jackson MS, Passion 4 Planting, Exponential Conference, NewThing, Stadia, Woodlands Community Church; Homewood IL, Thirst Network, Church at the Springs; Ocala FL, Lakepointe Church; Dallas TX, Fellowship Associates and a host of private donors. Praise be to God!

Vision: New Creation Church exists to be a diverse community of disciples who make disciples, and a church that plants churches throughout the world.
